Recent Bicycle Thefts in KenilworthOn Tuesday April 5, 2016 police observed a subject acting suspiciously at the bicycle rack at the Kenilworth train station. The subject then walked to the area of the 500 block of Cumnor Rd. near the rear of Joseph Sears School and took possession of an unattended and unlocked bicycle. The subject was stopped, interviewed, and taken into custody after police discovered the bicycle belonged to a student at Joseph Sears School. The subject was charged with Theft and the bicycle was returned to the student later that day.
Another bicycle theft occurred between Tuesday April 5 and Thursday April 7 from the Kenilworth train station bicycle rack. The bicycle was stolen by an unknown offender after its cable lock was cut. The most recent theft occurred between Saturday April 16 and Monday April 18 of an unlocked bicycle from the bicycle rack located at the rear of Joseph Sears School.
Using a U-bolt/U-lock type bicycle lock provides better security for your bicycle than traditional cable type locks which can be easily cut with bolt cutters. Suspicious persons and activity should be reported to the Police immediately by calling 911.
