Masks for Kenilworth Residents

Sent: May 12, 2020

After 21 years, the Kenilworth Police Department Open House will be cancelled this year due to COVID-19. Although, this beloved Community Policing event will not take place, the Village would like to use the funds budgeted for this event towards Community Service of a different kind.  These funds were used to purchase masks for those in the Kenilworth community who may need them.  We ask that by May 18th, you send an email to kenilworthpolicedepartment@vok.org with the following:  Name, Address and the Number of People Living at Your Address.  We will do our best to fulfill your request however, supplies are limited.

The updated Executive Order requires the following:

FACE COVERINGS: Beginning on May 1, individuals will be required to wear a face-covering or a mask when in a public place where they can’t maintain a six-foot social distance. Face-coverings will be required in public indoor spaces, such as stores. This new requirement applies to all individuals over the age of two who are able to medically tolerate a face-covering or a mask.

Prior to the Executive Order, several area municipalities passed ordinances requiring face coverings inside any essential businesses but the Executive Order is currently effective State wide.

Face coverings are not required when outside engaged in activities such as walking, running and biking.  We ask that residents make sound decisions for themselves regarding the use of masks and social distancing and guide their children appropriately.  We also ask that residents be respectful of other’s decision not to wear a mask when not required to do so by the Executive Order.
