Union Pacific will be conducting tie replacement along the UP-North line from August 20th to October 3rd. The project is occurring on both tracks, so there will be some level of construction noise. Work is being conducted at night to minimize the level of disruption to Metra operators, passengers, and motorists, and will occur between the hours of 10:00 p.m.-4:00 a.m. Work in Kenilworth is currently estimated to take place between August 23rd and September 23rd. Work in Kenilworth will not take place every night during that widow but will be completed by September 23rd at the latest. The project will begin in the City of Chicago and progress north towards Highland Park.
