With our first large snow event predicted next Tuesday, please keep in mind the following safety reminders in order to keep our residents and neighborhood safe. The Village is committed to maintaining safe vehicular and pedestrian traffic on publicly maintained streets and sidewalks. We cannot achieve this goal without help from the community:
- Please do not park on the streets during snow events, especially between the hours of 2:00 a.m. and 6:00 a.m. This will allow the Public Works staff to clean the streets curb to curb safely.
- Please be patient with snowplow drivers and remember your distance. Please do not pass a plow truck. Snowplow drivers have many blind spots and may not be aware of you.
- Never approach a plow truck, and always assume they do not see you.
- Parents, please do not allow your children to play in the snowbanks near the roadways.
- During snow events, please avoid jogging, walking or playing in the streets.
- Please remind your snow removal service (if used) not to blow or plow snow into the street. Snow should be pushed/piled in the parkway on your side of the street.
