The Public Works Department helps ensure all residents and businesses have reliable, high-quality drinking Water. Water is provided to approximately 877 customers Village-wide.
For decades, the Village's water source came from its own Water Plant, located along Lake Michigan, until it was decommissioned in 2017. Now, the Village's water source is currently provided by the Village of Wilmette through an intergovernmental agreement. While Wilmette provides the Village with water, the Public Works Department is responsible for maintaining all critical infrastructure, including water mains, the water tower, and the booster pump station.
