The Foreign Fire Insurance Board is a five-member body, appointed jointly by the Public Safety Committee. The appointed members serve two-year terms and meet on an as-needed basis. In accordance with Illinois Compiled Statutes, the Illinois Municipal League (IML) collects a 2% foreign fire insurance tax from the out of state insurance companies that conduct business in Kenilworth. The Foreign Fire Insurance Board is responsible for accounting for the revenues, and using the funds for the maintenance, use and benefit of the Department.
